My only issue is that usually the people using this are looking 50 yards past where they actually hit their ball 🙃

100% agree, it keeps pace of play solid and it just makes sense

Not a hot take imo. It’s not tournament golf anyway no need to play like it is.

I also agree that in late fall when the course is absolutely littered and leaves if you know for sure that your ball went dead in the fairway, but you literally can’t find it that you should be able to draw for free

I've lost balls in the middle of the fairway in the fall. Gallery Drops are the only way to accurately track your game sometimes. Obviously, shots close to hazards & penalty areas are a different story, but if it's a ball that would have been safe 100% of the time there should not be a penalty because you're relying on you (and your buddy(s)) to track a drive 200yds+.

I’ve had balls legit disappear in the rough before. Like I watched it hit, bounce, had no roll out in the rough. Look everywhere for 10 mins and have to give up cause it’s nowhere to be found. Makes no sense

One gallery drop per 9 hole, just like a muligan is what i do. Totally agree

Heck a lot of times the crowd acts as bumpers for the pros. I’ve seen many times it hit people in the crowd otherwise the ball would’ve been 30 yards off the fairway or over the green.

Especially the ones u pipe down the middle and some dude that hit into ur fairway assumes it couldn’t be urs, that’s way to deep of a drive, and takes it

PGA is so concerned with the ball roll back, if they got rid of spotters, implemented a shot clock, let’s say 2mins once you’re in the area, score would dramatically change, and there would be no reason to be concerned with the roll back.

You have to understand tour pros went through everything you did except their journey never stopped.

Man those tee boxes that are downhill from the fairway end up lost everytime even when you saw it going straight down the middle
