few different things 1. scented litter like that can be super bad for cats - try to opt for an unscented litter that is dust free for the future! 2. try to opt for ceramic bowls that dont have raised sides (more like a plate) because bowls like that can irritate their whiskers! 3. you may find he doesnt like drinking water out of a still bowl - there are lots of water fountains for kittens that prevent dehydration

Next time get Petcos refillable litter ! It’s were the giant tub of litter is in the store. First time it’s 14$ next time after forever is 8-11$! Works so well it’s als 30 pounds

definitely recommend stainless steel litter box!!! the best investment ever, I have four cats scoop two times a day and I never smell them! Also the bahama breeze litter by purina was a good choice— we love that one!

hobby lobby & home goods have cute flat ceramic dishes, I've seen a lot of cute ones online as well from specialty shops or amazon, for litter I recommend some unscented & for one cat you could probably get away with maybe unscented clumping clay, tofu litter, or even pine pellets and a sifting box. They make those in stainless steel as well for easy cleaning. As long as the diet is good you shouldn't really have to worry about smell as much, scoop 1-2 times a day, you could even get a second box to give him more space to 'mark his territory' since he's a male you could prevent spray marking. He's such a cutie loveeeee male cats they're such sweeties, I hope you and your new baby enjoy your journey together and much love from my kitties! ❤️

For bowls id recommend either ceramic or metal bowls that are elevated, wide and aren’t too deep to avoid whisker fatigue. Also id get a metal litter box it helps with the smell because it doesn’t trap bacteria.

Next time get a scent free litter! The clumping scent free one from special kitty is around 8 bucks at Walmart and a litter scoop , and a stainless steel litter box with a lid is a must to minimize litter clean up around it and the stainless is easier to clean when it gets stuck to the bottom . And tik tok shops cat trees are pretty affordable ! They love being up high and in little nooks

I recommend getting a lifted food bowl also since kitty is a boy i recommend for water a water fountain because boys are more likely to get blockages

elevated bowls are the best for cats not those floor one, also make sure you give him lot of water even in his food, male cats can get kidney stones and that can end them

I recommend a stainless steel litter box because overtime the plastic one will get tiny scratches and the nastiness will get stuck in there causing it to stink forever

so you can order this on Amazon, its a big bag of litter. it is pellet litter but thats better for cats paws insted of the kitty litter made out of clay and for food the only good my cats like is the Rachel Ray chicken and rice hard food.

i didn’t fully read the comments so i’m sure a lot of people have already said these things but i have 2 1/2 year old kittens and here’s what i’ve learned: invest in stainless steel litter box, use unscented clumping litter and scoop atleast once a day with a metal/stainless steel scooper (less bacteria & smell), wet food is amazing for them and even if it’s a budget brand it better than dry (i mix it up - fancy feast is the best budget option IMO!), for my male cat i add water to his food to prevent urine, i give them proden plaque off powder for their teeth (save $$ long term, $20 for a bottle that lasts months), i give them salmon oil for their coats, get them used to brushing and nail trims early at home, freeze dried treats, elevated kitty bowl for eating that is ceramic or metal (no plastic!!)

I would def recommend a steel litter box it eliminated odor and also def get an automatic waterer because my cats go through their water like crazy. Makes are way more likely to be dehydrated and develop kidney issues so I’d recommend that so he can drink 24/7. My cats also love to play in the water so since the automatic waterer is way heavier they can’t spill!
