SLP here-the tongue tie release really did have a huge impact on your speech. You almost had a lateral lisp prior to the tongue tie. Hoping the spikes eliminate the tongue thrust altogether. Don’t forget to keep doing those exercises :)

the palate is the roof of your mouth; so that’s where your expander will be if you’re getting a palate expander. that appliance is to keep your tongue from pushing forward

go to Walmart and get silicone earplugs. pinch off what you need and place over anything poking you. it doesn't dissolve like wax

Its a lower expander with tounge tamers. I think you have to turn it. Do you get sn upper Expander too?? Your jaw on top seems also narrow .😳😁 Good luck for the first days with this.

does the bottom expander have a screw? and is the the need for a top expander as well? the upper palate seems a bit narrow, anyway i wish you the best for your braces!

I’m an Ortho assistant and those springs are active which means it IS an expander as well. And also, I cannot believe they let you leave with all that extra cement on your teeth..yes it will eventually come off but it would have taken them a few seconds to clean it up for you 😞

I’m surprised you’re a candidate for it. You seem like you could be a surgical case like me. I tried expanders but ended up in a worst spot until I got two more evaluations from airway focused dentist and ortho. Now I’m in braces as I wait for surgery next year.
