I saw a quote the other day that really hit home - "Just because you feel like you could be doing more, doesn't mean you're not already doing enough."

Pat would be absolutely correct & I would agree with him! Everyone’s situation is different. At some point maybe your daddy will agree to join her at the care home.

Although it’s hard & you may never feel “great” about it, but even though you made this tough choice you still put a lot of time in. This choice just allows you to be a daughter & a grandmother 🫶🏾

Our children made the decision to move my husband to memory care & me to assisted living…just down the hall, so I could visit him all day, sleep at night. I’d never have but it was the best thing.

Do not feel guilty, there comes a time when you can no longer do it in the home. She's is where she needs to be. she is being taken care of.

I know your pain Donna. Your story aligns with mine so much. I lost my husband suddenly. My mother had the same thing and she lived with me for about two years until we couldn’t manage her care. It was one of the most painful decisions. It was for the best but this cycle of life is so hard.

His closet still smells 100% like him and my three 20+ kids are in there constantly - a year and a half later… you are an amazing family member all the way around!!!

Sometimes, the best most loving decision is to allow loved ones to receive the care she needs, and that is exactly what you have done.

Donna, you don’t need to feel guilty. My mom was a RN for over 40 years and when she got sick I took care of her and it’s very taxing and she felt like she was a burden. It got to the point that I couldn’t do it anymore. You’re doing the right thing for you and your family.💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰

Absolutely agree with what Pat would say. Most importantly is her safety. If they lived with you and you weren't home something could happen.

Your feelings are SO normal. We all feel we could do more, we just took care of my mother-in-law for two weeks of hospice before she passed. It was emotionally challenging. All those feelings you’re experiencing we all feel. Be sure to give yourself grace and patience Miss Donna. ❤️

You shouldn’t feel guilty. It’s a huge undertaking and it’s very hard to have to take care of anyone, let alone a loved one, like your momma. You do have a life. And your mom wouldn’t want that. She would want you living your life not around the clock for her. It’s actually probably better for her being there, because you would be physically exhausted 😴 and unable to take her anywhere or anything. It’s also probably unreasonable and unrealistic for you to care for her all the time you would have to have time. Unfortunately sometimes things get to a point where you have no choice but to
