My best friend Erin had a schizophrenic break in her late 20s. Medication hurt more than helped. Everyone abandoned her except me, her mom, and stepdad. I still spent time with her regularly, multiple times a week, even when it was hard or scary. We went on walks, went to dinner, went to movies. But it was too much for her, and she ended her life. It’s been 22 years without her, and I still miss her so much. Bless you for loving your brother like this.

As a fellow sufferer, the right visual stimuli is key. I believe my schizophrenia resides somewhere within the visual cortex, as my research has shown that no person born blind has ever developed schizophrenia. I think it's wonderful what you all do for your brother, I wish I had this, but I had to do it by myself. Your right about nature. It's the shade of green that does it. It increases our visual definition, giving more detailed information to the brain, leaving less room for what's not real. I think this works because we only have so much processing power in our brains. God bless you all🙏

my daughter lives with me and isolates. she always has. i cant get her to come out and do things. she receently diagnosed with schizophrenia she refuses treatment .she says she just wants to be alone. i dont k ow what to do.

You truly are an angel on earth. No societal institution could replace a brother's love. I have a sister with severe borderline. She decided to cut contact with the whole family a few years ago. Havent seen or heard from her since. We dont even know if shes still alive. Seeing you with your brother cheers me up.

this made me cry I went completly mute at 23 when I experienced my onset and Mt first psychosis I completly stopped talking for half a year anf never quote recovered spent a lot of years alone I know exzactpy what you mean by reality or normal life feeling painful 💔 it hurts man schizophrenia is hard as fork I'm so happy you bonded with him like this some of us need it 💔
