@jessnuremberg: Replying to @RomCom279 I froze my eggs in my 30s and thawed them when I turned 40. They didn’t become embryos, and one of the questions I get most is, “Why?” The truth is, we’ll probably never know. There are so many variables in the process. It could have been my egg quality, the retrieval, the freezing process, the thaw, the fertilization, or even the sperm. The reality is that an egg is just a single cell, so it can’t be genetically tested on its own. You only start getting answers once an embryo is created. That’s when embryos can be tested, giving you much more information about whether they’re viable. I know everyone wants a clear explanation, and trust me, so do I. But sometimes fertility doesn’t give us one. That’s one of the hardest parts of this journey. #EggFreezing #IVFJourney #Fertility #SingleMomByChoice

Shay :
The whole reason I plan on freezing my eggs is to do genetic testing if my future partner wants biological children.

Dr. Tamara :
I’ve seen this so many times. The process of freeze and thaw has gotten so much better, but it’s still not perfect. I think more testing of the sperm is key. And I agree, freeze embryos if you can!

Hey it’s Ash :
Exactly make at least 3 embryos with donor sperm, freeze those, along with some eggs. If you do get married, then they can fertilize your eggs with your husband’s sperm, and if it works, that great! If it doesn’t, at least you have your own embryos frozen. They say it takes 3, frozen embryos to equal 1 live baby
