I don't know why no one can understand this. like, I feel really bad for him, like I imagine it was me and low key that would hurt. like I deeply value my culture, I love it and if I just went to sleep and woke up finding out everything and everyone was gone. aang was the last air nomad . like it was not just the bending but the food, the festivals, the clothes, the history. like do people know that lots of the foods Aang used to eat, before the war, he can't make them anymore because all of the ingredients went extinct, the places that he used to play with his friends don't exist anymore, Just imagine how aang felt when he had to gather all of the bones of his people to give them a proper burial . like there must be things that was part of his culture that he doesn't know about because he was too young to learn about them. like for me, I was taught a specific tradition at sixteen. I was shown how to do it and was trained for a bit by the elders in my community. what if the air nomads have something similar, he would have no one to teach him . There's lots of problems with the movie but this is not one of them.

If they don’t think a lifetime of survivors guilt is realistic have them search up Gaza photographers and artists who escaped the current genocide the last 2 years and see how they’re doing. NOT great. And it will stay with them forever. It’s PAINFULLY realistic that aang is not over it in his 20s. He will never get over it actually.

Also mind you Aang was going to do a one trip thing and than come back especially when he got stuck in that storm he WANTED to turn back but the STORM PREVENTED from living causing him in the damn ice berg in the first place!
