@hiemilynoelle: K9 Recon spent 8 years protecting his community as a law enforcement K9. After retiring, he should have been able to enjoy the peaceful retirement he earned. Instead, Recon’s retirement lasted just one day. After being retired to his former handler, Recon was reportedly left unsupervised with family members. During that time, he bit a child and was surrendered to Osceola County Animal Services. Since then, Recon has remained at the shelter while officials conduct a bite investigation that has now lasted more than two months. According to Recon’s advocates, there is already an approved adopter willing to give him a home, but Recon has not been released because the investigation remains open. They also allege the case is being handled in a way that prevents his adoption. Recon dedicated 8 years of his life to protecting the public. Like many working K9s, he wasn’t given a structured transition from a career of service into civilian retirement. He deserves the chance to live the retirement he earned. If you believe Recon deserves a fair opportunity, respectfully contact Osceola County Animal Services and ask them to complete the investigation as quickly as possible and allow Recon’s case to move forward if appropriate. 📞 Phone: (407) 742-8000 📧 Email: [email protected] Please keep all calls and emails respectful. Recon’s future depends on people advocating for him in a constructive way. #K9Recon #OsceolaCountyFlorida
