In college, one of my professors taught me to avoid speaking in absolutes because it can signal a closed-minded way of thinking. I think you’re misunderstanding her. Based off the audio, it gives the impression that the actual death was accidental. (The shock and the “wake up”). Everything else after was intentional. I’m saying this as an intel analyst.

All his balck friends made it back too, not just his white friends. They lawyered up whilst he was missing because of the photo that had been posted of 2 white friends next to him! A picture of just him could have been used instead without anyone in ti to accuse. They had already started receiving accusations and threats etc whilst he was missing and blaming them for doing something which is why they did.
