hot take, but I think the reason for this homophobic behavior is because a lot of his straight women, especially white cis straight women, havent properly deconstructed how the patriarchy effects them on a personal, psychological level. like it's easy to see patriarchal effects on a societal level and try to fight against that, but it's far more difficult to spot how their upbringing in the patriarchy influenced their personal beliefs, resulting in them upholding those same patriarchal values.
