1. No Christian would claim that being Christian automatically makes you a good person. Christian theology literally teaches that everyone is a sinner. 2. I mean yeah you could find beauty in almost any worldview that doesn't make it true or false 3. Just not true and you wouldn't really have a way of proving it

I'm not religious but I have seen the most beautiful acts of kindness and generosity from Christians. I have also seen the most evil and vile things from that same group. But I personally think that Christian altruism is truly unique in the world. People who don't carry a mantle of responsibility to a higher power are not apt to perform acts of charity and kindness in a cultural way like Christians do. I think this is the best part of Christianity, and as someone who feeds homeless people, and works at food banks, I know there will be Christians there doing the work of their faith

Why would you expect Christians to be good people? Does redemption imply needing to be redeemed. Under a Christian worldview, humans are stained with sin and strive for carnal pleasures. I’m curious as to why this was something revealing for you. We should expect Christians to strive to be better, but that does not imply we should expect them to be good people.

You guys understand he’s not trying to convince you of anything? He’s sharing his experiences and what he’s come to understand and what he overcame. Maybe if you Christian’s stopped being so tribalistic and foaming at the mouth because this ONE guys left your group and is happier for it you’d see it instead of coming here trying to attack him and backing each other up in the small echo chambers you create

Theistic religious belief is a psychological prison that believers do not know they are in. Brandolini's Law...basically...the amount of effort required to debunk bullshit is exponentially greater than the effort to create it. Theism indoctrinates believers by capitalizing on their fears and gullibility. Once indoctrinated, believers defend their belief like the faithful followers of their favorite sports team. It's the perfect storm of brainwashing. When a believer is challenged on their belief, they will double down on it. Even in light of facts and evidence contrary to their belief. This is why theistic religious belief is a psychological prison that believers do not know they are in. The one way out of this psychological prison is for the believer to seek enlightenment. Seek truth and adopt an epistemology that heavily weighs on wanting to believe as many true things and as few untrue things as possible.
