As a food service worker if a customer walked in teary eyed, stared at me, introduced himself by his full name and immediately left after getting a coffee I’d be talking about that interaction for YEARS. I have a lot of weird customer stories

depends. there's certain people I do remember even though they only showed up once. she had reasons 1: he acted a bit odd 2: he actually introduced himself with full name 3: asked abt her wound 4: knew ger disappointment mantra add all that to her thinking he was cute (which she most likely did), she could remember. especially since in this moment it wasn't right away but took a few times for her to recall that memory

she only mentioned the donut shop after peter took his mask off. she didnt recognize him when he was at the party or remember him from just the name, she recognized him AFTER finding out his name was peter AND seeing his face, which makes sense considering it was probably one of those little weird moments at work like, "this guy came to the donut shop with a letter in his hand and awkwardly introduced himself when he ordered" and i forgot that they literally had a whole little conversation too so idk it doesnt seem too unrealistic.
