@automotivemecanics: Wiring auxiliary headlights or fog lights using a proper relay setup is essential for ensuring maximum brightness and protecting your vehicle's factory electrical system. Operating high-amperage lights directly through a small cabin switch can cause the switch to melt, overheat, or fail completely. By utilizing a standard 4-pin automotive relay, a low-current switch safely triggers high-amperage power directly from the battery to the lights. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of how each component functions within this headlight circuit: • 12V Automotive Battery: Serves as the primary power source for the entire circuit. The positive (+) terminal supplies power to operate the lights and the relay coil, while the negative (-) terminal connects to the vehicle frame to complete the ground path. • Inline Blade Fuse (15A): Positioned immediately after the battery's positive terminal on the main power wire. This essential safety component acts as a safeguard against short circuits, wire meltdowns, and potential electrical fires by breaking the circuit if amperage draws exceed safe limits. • Automotive Relay (4-Pin): Acts as an electromagnetic switch that isolate high-current loads from low-current cabin controls. Power Input (Pin 30): Receives 12V constant power coming directly from the fused battery line. Relay Coil Control (Pins 85 & 86): One terminal receives the positive switch signal, while the opposite terminal routes to ground. When the switch is toggled on, an internal electromagnet energizes. Load Output (Pin 87): When the relay energizes, internal contact points close, sending 12V high-current power out to the headlights. • Cabin Toggle Switch: Positioned inside the vehicle dashboard to give the driver manual control. It taps into the fused 12V positive feed (labeled BAT) and routes a low-current signal to the relay when flipped to the ON position. Because it only carries the tiny amount of current needed to trigger the internal relay coil, the switch runs safely without heating up. • Headlights / Fog Lamps: The primary load in the circuit. The positive lead splits to supply both left and right fog/headlight assemblies simultaneously when Pin 87 outputs power. • Chassis Ground Points: Each light assembly features a dedicated ground lead attached directly to bare metal on the vehicle body or chassis ring terminals. Completing the path back to the battery’s negative (-) terminal ensures proper current flow and full light output. Using this relay-based circuit design guarantees safety, maximum voltage delivery to your headlights, and long-lasting durability for your vehicle’s electrical upgrades! #LearnMechanics

I might be wrong but I’m confident enough to say this connection is incorrect because why is the fuse there if it’s also bypassed?

That isn't how you do the connection in vehicle 🙄 the purpose of the relay is you can use small gauge wirings and lower current from the car accessories ignition to the switch while the relay handle bigger guage wiring and higher current
