THE BOYS OF TOMMEN NOW HAVE MY HEART!💜 tropes: ✨friends to lovers ✨slow burn ✨found family ✨sports-romance ✨high-school ✨boy-obsessed ✨grumpy/sunshine ‼️check TW This book absolutely broke me. God I went through so many different emotions reading this book. Shannon Lynch, our FMC, is a lonesome soul who’s dealt with hell all of her life. She’s been bűllied and töřtured at school and home; she’s a quiet, innocent but damäged girl who only wants to be left alone. Then she meets Johnny Kavanagh, Tommen College’s number 1 rugby player who has everything going for him: money, looks, friends, popularity. All he cares about is rugby until he meets Shannon. Johnny strives on his focus for rugby but becomes distracted when sweet Shannon rolls into his life. He wants to protect her, and she wants to hide away. I didn’t think I would fall in love with these characters and resonate with their stories, especially Shannon’s. I grew up bűllied and misunderstood, and I even transferred schools when the bűllying got too much. Reading this book makes my inner child feel seen. Although Shannon had it way worse than me, and I am so glad she had her brother trying to protect her. I also never had a Johnny, a guy who went mad when he found out people were bűllying her, a guy who made sure she was comfortable, a guy who at the end of the book trampled even my feelings to pieces. Gah reading what Shannon has to deal with just breaks my heart, especially the ending. I wanted to jump in the pages and protect her myself. I don’t want to spoil the book, but it was such a good YA story, especially on an emotional level. Some words said were pretty cringy though but I can understand why. The side characters are pretty amazing, enough to know that they have their own books as well! The writing was lovely; I felt like I was there on every page. The character development was very strong, although the characters are extremely stubborn in their ways. I know it’s just their way of protecting themselves. I cried so many times reading this, like I might have used about 10 tissues. So be prepared if you do read it. I already ordered the next books in the series, but I’ll probably read them on KU since my copy of this book turned out to be a misprint. 😭 Overall, an amazing heart wrenching, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read that I couldn’t put down!! 💜🫶🏻 #BookTok #binding13 #boysoftommen #booktokfyp #booklovers #bookgirlies #readersoftiktok #bookreview
