I know this isn’t the popular thing to say… But I’ve kind of stopped rushing to fix my kids’ boredom. Don’t get me wrong… they still come to me and say, “Mom, I’m bored.” But I’ve noticed if I don’t immediately jump in with an idea, they usually figure it out. Before long they’re outside, riding bikes, building something, catching bugs, making up games, or doing something I never would’ve thought of. I grew up in the 90s, and honestly… that’s how most of my childhood looked too. I don’t think every minute of summer has to be planned. Sometimes kids just need the chance to be kids. Kids need to figure out what to do next. Kids need to learn to be creative. And if that starts with being bored for a little while… I’m okay with that because some of my best memeories from childhood are when we were bored & left to figure it out ourselves☀️🤍 What about you? Are you embracing boredom this summer & teaching your kids how to be creative + figure it out too??
