@isaacdoeshealth: Rating protein bars out of 10 based on ingredients. I went through the protein bar aisle and rated some of the most popular options from 2/10 to 10/10. I looked at the full ingredient list—not just whatever “high protein,” “low sugar” or “gluten free” claim is slapped on the front. The BSc Violet Crumble Protein Bar and OxyShred Lean Protein Bar ranked near the bottom because they’re heavily processed and contain seed oils, multiple sweeteners and a stack of extra additives. The NOWAY Collagen Jelly Bar landed in the middle. It uses easily digested collagen protein, but still contains sweeteners, preservatives and other added ingredients. The Quest Chocolate Brownie Protein Bar scored higher. It contains prebiotic fibre and mostly recognisable ingredients, but uses three different sweeteners. The Health Lab Chocolate Protein Wafer was one of the better options. It’s low in sugar, contains no artificial sweeteners and has no preservatives—but it’s still more of a lighter protein snack than a serious high-protein bar. The Chief Traditional Beef Brisket Bar took the top spot. It’s made from grass-fed Australian beef, has a short ingredient list and delivers plenty of protein without the long list of sweeteners, preservatives and filler ingredients found in most protein bars. A protein bar isn’t automatically healthy just because it has 20g of protein. Some are basically chocolate bars with protein powder added. The full ingredient list still matters. Save this for your next shop. What protein bar should I rate next? @Chief Nutrition #healthy #proteinbars #healthyproteinbars #woolies #colds

Seed oils aren’t bad for you? They appear in a lot of processed food but it’s the sugar, salt and other preservatives/processed components that are bad? Seed oils can actually be good for you.
