I met someone who I thought felt safe because he was nice & “calm”. However, he never expressed a need or want in 3+ years together so it took me time to realize he was emotionally void and only mirrored my emotions and love. He discarded me & coldly left my home I had opened for him and his boys, but I own my part that I had grown resentful & I was innately unhappy with him. It was a soul crushing recovery, but I have learned 1) not to over give in the future, 2) that I am the one full of emotions and they are beautiful emotions because it means I appreciate life, and 3) I am safe with myself 💕
