Almost 13 year old twins, in 7th grade. They still play with dolls, Bluey, peppa etc. we’ve had lots of bully questions and discussions lately. We don’t have phones or give them access to YouTube or the internet. Keep going!!

This is why I HATE middle school being 6-8. The pre-teen culture is already disappearing and now we’re pushing kids who could be kids longer into middle school with older kids who are already basically high schoolers. It’s a very weird mix 😣

please talk with her and try to keep her confidence because middle schoolers are mean and definitely ruined alot of things for me but once I found that it didnt matter it helped alot

My husband mentioned the other day that he didn’t think it was normal for our 9 year old daughter to still be playing with her stuffies and dolls so much. I told him “please don’t make her grow up faster if she’s not ready” but in my head I wondered if he was right. This just made me feel so much better♥️

My 11 YO going into 6th had two friends over this weekend. She got so excited to learn they wanted to play dolls. The giggles and pretend had me in tears.

Mine is 10 and the same way! It’s this sweet time of her discovering new things like fashion and more ‘teenage’ things with a mix of childhood toys and activities. ☺️

Wow i feel like crying this is the bike i had in kindergarten down to the basket and my parents got rid of it when i was in 2nd grade so i could get a “real bike” (we live in a canyon so i needed a mountain bike) and now im 19 and sad

I love to see this. I played with dolls until I was 14 but when I turned 15 my parents told me I was too old for them😪 I was devastated when they threw them away

If she’s strong enough and feels secure in her interests she’ll be ok, that’s how I was at that age people were mean to me but I loved my “childish” hobbies too much to care (it also helps to have parents who support that, which I unfortunately didn’t have)

My daughter is 11, going to middle school and still loves going to play with our 8 year old neighbor. Also, loves her stuffies, slime, etc. things that are still normal for her age. I like to think I did my best protecting her innocence 💕 hope she has an amazing time in middle school!

Start looking for the items in the next age range. Can anything she enjoys now turn into a teenage hobby? Fashion? Makeup? Braiding? Any collections? My son is almost 11 and is having a hard time switching from kid toys that no longer interest him to activities and hobbies that will fill his time.
