@tomshreds: While the lead part in this is epic, I’m actually a huge fan of that beastly rhythm guitar part. The song is arranged so perfectly, and the overall production is I think worthy of a 10/10. Early A7X was often higher tempo, more frantic, more sophisticated musically & more dangerous, while this era was perhaps more of that “black album” feel. Solid, brutal & refined. Each is great, and I like having the variety when I listen to this band depending on what I want to hear. Im not a huge A7X fan but they do have three absolute bangers that are up there with the best of heavy metal IMO. Hail to the King, Nightmare, and Shepard of Fire.
