you should be using your service brakes as little as possible when going down a grade. always rely on your Jake/engine brake and stab brake when necessary.

No need to stab break if u r in the proper gear to go down the mountain in a autoshift truck, drivers need to use manual mode look in manual of how to engage on the type of truck u have. Cascadia is on jake break lever at the tip. Press and hold to engage, push lever twords dash to downshift and press twords u to up shift. But yes u r correct on stab breaking if ya need to use it.
