She creatively transformed H I into “hi” and J K into “just kidding.” It was a visual linguistic pun, not evidence that she did not know the alphabet. Soft skills are not demonstrated by avoiding all disagreement. They are demonstrated through restraint, context, cultural humility, and respect for the Deaf people whose language interpreters are paid to interpret.
