Aussie here. At 10 months my daughter was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome. Her paediatrician hadn’t heard of it (few have) so by our next visit he had studied it, got in contact with specialist in The US and read up on therapies, nutrition, medications etc. He cheered in the waiting room (kinda scaring others waiting) when she walked to his room at age 7. I trust him so very much!

My pediatrician had 4 boys. I have 2 (adults now). I know this will sound unprofessional, but this man had known I was slightly insane for a while. Realized he was the best when after I asked him to test my 2nd for diabetes bc whatever, he looked me dead in the eye and said “I’ll do it because it’s noninvasive. But mainly it will calm you down bc you’re insane!” 😂💙💙 For me? SUPER comforting.

I went to the OBGYN yesterday for a new pregnancy, same OBGYN I went to for my first baby. Now they have a form that you have to sign that are policies they require to have you as a patient. It's basically just an outline of standard care, 2 ultrasounds, a prenatal blood panel, no VBACs if you have already had 2 C sections, glucose test, ect. I think it's insane that they have to get patients to agree to all of those things up front. Genuinely WHO is declining the blood tests to make sure you're healthy and aren't going to possibly pass a dangerous infection or disease to your baby or medical staff?

Thank you to all of you in the medical community who undergo such rigorous education, take on significant financial burden, clearly care so deeply about your patients and still show up even though you’re being undermined by insurance companies and ridiculously ignorant people (which a lot of them it appears to be willfully so). I am so grateful that you all stick around even though I’m not sure that I would if I were in your shoes.

I don't trust doctors when they recommend vaccines but I do trust them when my child is about to die from measles. Jk doesn't that sound insane??

My dad trusted my sleep doctor to diagnose and medicate me, but didn’t trust my pediatrician. Make it make sense 😂

🤔 my daughter is 22wks pregnant and she was supposed to have her anatomy scan done 2wks ago but there’s an issue with her insurance that we’re trying to fix and they have refused to see her unless we pay out of pocket which unfortunately we definitely can’t afford to do so I think this may be true for SOME doctors but not all

I trust all my docs. Also my wife is a doc. I see how much hard work and heart ache goes into doing the best job possible for the patients. Not saying EVERY doc is like that but I do know quite a few that are. Thank you on behalf of your patients.

I agree!! We actually didn’t move cities because I trust our pediatrician and my OBGYN so much. They have truly become family and I trust them with my children’s lives!

My kids pediatrician has called me herself at 11pm at night to check in on my infant. Not a nurse or a nurse practitioner but the actual MD. You can’t tell me they don’t care when doing things like that

If a doctor was in it for the money, they wouldn’t pick one of the lowest paying specialities. I can tell my son’s pediatrician loves kids. His wife owns the internal medicine practice next door and you can tell she loves community health.

My kid’s pediatrician has stayed late to find a hospital bed so we could be seen the same day at a children’s hospital. She’s called us to check on him after appointments. I LOVE her and appreciate her help with my medically complex kid so much. I trust her opinion and know she only wants the best for my son.
