do u maybe know how long it can take to get along? since we are getting a new cat and my current one is 6 yrs old and the new one 1 year. both of them are pretty chaotic 😅

Currently going through this now. I have my 11 year old resident cat and our new kitten that is 8 weeks old. Got him Sunday and did some scent swapping and 2 accidental meets because kitten likes to dart the door. Just a few hisses but that’s it. Slowly doing tent introductions. Resident cat doesn’t like treats but likes to go outside so we let him out when the interaction is over. Just so impatient and hope they can be in the same room together soon.

Does anyone know why my one resident cat keeps trying to get on top of my baby kitten and like chew on his neck I’m not sure if I should separate them bc none of them ever cry but it worries me a bit

Currently going through this but the only enclosed space i can put the kitty in is in my room and my adult cat hates it so much. It’s been a week,face to face meetings go well but my older cat still hisses, the kitten is super curious and tries to run to her every chance he gets. I got them to eat in the same room today with no issues

My cats are so weird lol my oldest I had for 4 years before adopting his brother Simon. Simon loved his brother immediately but his brother marcy didn't feel the same. I did all the things and eventually they got along. Fast forward 3 months and a calico kitten ended up at my house. Simon immediately loved his new little sister triss who had to be quarantined because she was sick. He sat outside the door and played with her under the door until she was allowed medically to meet him. It was love at first site to this day they're inseparable. Fast forward 8 years. Someone dumped a gray tabby on my property brought her inside got her to a vet did all the things no one claimed her. Welp now I have a fourth did all the things seperate them, positive reinforcement, baby gates, you name it. She loved my oldest Marcy (rip my baby angel) immediately. He was very handsome. He was hesitant but took to her after only 2 meetings! The other two and her still don't get along and I have reintroduced them several times starting the process over each time. It's been a year. We now have calico territory and gray tabby territory in my house and neither crosses into the others side lol

this is so helpful! I have an 11 month old spoiled princess and plan to get another cat once I move to a bigger apartment. 🥰 I'm so scared about her interacting with a new cat.

I found a stray 7 month old kitten in May and my cats stillllll hate him. I can let him out of my room for a little bit but then he tries to play with them and sometimes it seems like he’s trying to mount them. I got him fixed in June so it’s been almost 2 months. I have four girl cats that are spayed. I’m hoping soon they all get along. I am tired of having Theo (new kitten) in my room 24/7 besides the bit of time they get along without it turning into a screaming match or fight
