Claire organised the group activities, Shan and Johnny were able to have alone time in her room, she never judged Joey, she helped decorate Shans new room and was teaching her how to swim, she made sure to include Katie, was the first to make Liz feel wanted and wanted to know more but Hugh made sure to shelter her, people can say she’s a bad friend until they are blue in the face and it’s unfortunate she wasn’t explored thoroughly but whether as an ensemble they are considered found family or not, Claire and Gibs kept the core 10 together

Exactly! I’ve seen people say it’s Shannon, and while she is so understanding and empathetic, (and my fav character) she isn’t the glue. The drama that bubbled over in t7 would’ve happened WAY earlier if no for Claire.

Claire and Gerard were literally the glue of the friend group they got along with EVERYONE. (Except Gerard and Lizzie for obvious reasons) Claire was always there for everyone she made sure Katie was included, she made sure Feely was also included and she taught Shannon how to swim (why don’t people mention this more often) she also made sure Aoife and Joey were included in the core 10. She also practically set Johnny with Shannon (practically because Gerard made sure of that too) also Claire made sure to check on Lizzie and make sure she was okay and was generally concerned by her.

i love claire so much. shes hated by a large part of the fandom but i rest easy knowing she's the one in the core 10 that's loved by all since childhood and they always talk with so much love about her 😭🩷 ik shes the glue because it all started with her in my honest opinion (and people are only civil w each other evem with all thats happened because of their love for claire. things fell apart for real this time once she finally took sides)
