This is exactly the problem I had in my last relationship. I think he loved me and was attached to me, but I always questioned if he actually liked me. Sounds crazy, but don’t you want to do these things for your partner if you actually like them?!

Married 22 years. I’ve asked and asked and basically dry begged for compliments and dates and to take pictures of me and for him to actually desire me. It’s been 2 years since he’s even touched me. I’ve given up. Basically in a silent divorce. I’ll never ask it ever again.

yes yes and yes. A little lesson to the youngsters. if they love you they'll work on showing that they love you, that they care for you, that (to not confuse with obsession or possessions) they want to care, lift you up at every opportunity. For you to be someone that they deeply care about, that they value your safety, love, health, time, energy to the max. Same works from your end.
