July 2015, just hours after reaching adulthood, Montalvo was involved in a violent altercation outside an Elmwood Avenue Walgreens in Providence, Rhode Island. The incident began following a minor car accident or fender-bender with a group of individuals in the parking lot. A physical fight quickly escalated, culminating in a stabbing that left 26-year-old Afghan War Army veteran Colby Mendonca dead and another man, Russell Gleason, severely injured. In the immediate aftermath of the altercation, Providence detectives arrested Montalvo, who initially admitted to the stabbing but firmly maintained that his actions were taken in self-defense during what he described as an active robbery and assault. Because the incident involved the high-profile death of a military veteran and Montalvo’s background as a local drill rapper going by "Rico Smash," the case was extensively covered by regional news networks and heavily scrutinized online. Prosecutors officially indicted Montalvo on charges of first-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon, ensuring he was held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI). Rather than risking a trial that carried a potential life sentence, Montalvo engaged in an arduous eight-and-a-half-year legal battle before eventually accepting a plea deal for the lesser charge of manslaughter, serving a cumulative total of nearly 10 years behind bars before his released

It's insane how news channels can just paint a narrative. I thought it was innocent until proven guilty in America

I don’t the whole exact story of what happened but all I can say on Colby’s behalf is, one time when I was 21 I was stranded in Pawtucket late night hanging out like 1 am with a friend & my girlfriend & my friends friends Colby being one of them, I never met Colby before that or saw him again after that night I didn’t know him from a hole in the wall, he offered to bring him home all the way to Woonsocket & I couldn’t be any more appreciative of that. Like I said I never saw him again after that night. That ride home was nice of him he didn’t have to do that he didn’t want gas money or nothing he just wanted his friends friend to get home safe & I’ll forever be appreciative of him for that. May he rest in peace

Why are you using so much AI? Doesn’t actually make the video better. If anything, it’s makes it difficult to follow what’s real and what’s AI

The amount of innocent men locked up in the 80’s and 90’s is probably in the thousands. You guys think cops are out of control today? Back before Bodycams, DNA tests and the Internet, law enforcement was basically the Wild West. Look at all the overturn convictions so far. Can’t trust the system for a reason when over half of them are corrupt.

I believe him, when I was in the army there were some soldier that would rob people or sell drugs! when I was in Monterey Bay working in an army school of languages, there was a case of some Marines rob a senior citizen in an atm and rob him! they made them give the money back but didn't do anything to them!

That’s how social media is. They make “criminals” look like horrible people and dehumanize them. They switch up stories and add stuff that ISNT confirmed. Usually do this to people who are colored
