In Islam, a maternal aunt holds the same status as a mother. Even though her mom might be gone, she'll always find her in you. As someone whose aunt is literally their best friend, I just want you to know that she'll really appreciate you and all the sacrifices you've made for her. My mom lost her baby sister in July 2022, she drank herself to death in August 2024 from a broken heart. Now me and my little sister (my aunts daughter) have both lost ours mom. In native culture maternal siblings are seen as extensions. So my cousins from my mom’s siblings are my siblings. It got worse when after month after my mom died, our brother was 🔫 a month later in September 2024. So July-September really suck. When we’re struggling we call each other and say “I promise” which is a promise not to leave yet.
