@drjulianprosia: Could pineapple 🍍 actually reduce eye floaters? One study suggests that proteolytic enzymes found in fruits like pineapple (bromelain), papaya (papain), and figs (ficin) may help reduce floaters. It’s a fascinating idea… but it’s far too early to say this should become a treatment. In medicine, we follow a hierarchy of evidence before changing how we treat patients. One promising study is a great starting point, not the finish line. One of the biggest questions? The blood-retinal barrier. It’s designed to limit what reaches the inside of the eye, which is also why many oral medications have reduced bioavailability in ocular tissues. So can enough of these enzymes actually reach the vitreous to make a meaningful difference? We simply don’t know yet. I love seeing exciting research like this, it pushes eye care forward. But until we have stronger evidence and reproducible results, I’ll be watching the data… not recommending pineapple as a floater treatment. Would you try eating more pineapple if future research proved it worked? 👇🍍 ##eyehealth##floaters##optometrist##fruits##cool 🎥: @analyzeandoptimize
