For context: My dad had a septic surgery last 2022. It was his knee that they operated on, but it didn't recover properly so he became disabled and was never able to walk straight again. An opportunity arose this 2026, and he submitted every requirement, waited for updates daily, until he was approved for the surgery. He was the happiest, and of course, we were happy for him too. But on the day they were oriented, the doctors checked his medical background again. Upon realizing he had undergone septic surgery on the knee before, they checked if they could still find the presence of the bacteria. The hospital has no present facilities that could check at the moment, and it would be risky to pursue the surgery if the septic bacteria was just dormant in his body. It can be woken up with the operation, so they had to cancel and deny his approval for now. It wasn't an easy decision for them to make, and of course for him to immediately accept. So he went back the next day to beg and ask for a reconsideration. I accompanied him because he gets tired too easily and I worry he might faint or collapse. I never expected I'd experience this kind of pain watching my own father's desperation. Just the hopelessness of a daughter unable to do anything to help her struggling father.
