How to grow an 🥑🪴 AVOCADO PLANT from seed from @tomatoeswithlemon 1- Take out an avocado seed from an avocado, being careful not to damage it. 2- Soak the seed in water for at least an hour, making it easier to peel off the skin (the layer beneath the skin could be light or dark). 3- Use 3 toothpicks and place them around the seed (keep in mind the flat part is the bottom and the pointy part is the top). 4- Fill a jar or glass with water and place the bottom half of the seed in water. 5- Change the water daily with filtered water and leave it in bright light (not direct sunlight). 6- Over the next 4-8 weeks, while the seed cracks open, you will see a root growing from the bottom and a stem growing from the top. 7- When the stem is 6-12 inches, prune it 3-6 inches ABOVE A NODE (this is going to encourage growth). 8- Wait till it’s 6-12 inches again, then transplant it into soil. 9- You’ll need a planter with drainage, a mixture of potting mix, perlite, and peat moss (to enhance drainage and increase acidity), and add a good fertilizer. 10- First, add some soil to the bottom of the planter, carefully take out toothpicks from the seed, gently tuck the roots and plant, and add more soil and press on the soil around the seed to secure the plant (as long as the roots are in the soil, doesn’t matter if seed is sticking out. Lastly, give it some fertilizer and good water. 11- Let your avocado plant dry out between watering; leave it in bright light but not direct sunlight. 12- Enjoy it because you helped create this beautiful plant! #avocadoplant #avocado #avocadoseed #avocadolovers #PlantLover #houseplants #homegarden #naturelover
