@offenceregister: Court Verdict for Benjamin Johnson from Scunthorpe - EXTENDED SENTENCE A 34-year-old man from Scunthorpe has been handed an eight-year extended sentence for committing sexual assaults against two young girls. Benjamin Johnson, formerly known as Benjamin Norrie, of Scunthorpe, faced Grimsby Crown Court following his arrest by police. The court heard Johnson hid his past sex offence convictions before targeting two girls under 13, grooming them through unwanted physical touching before committing sexual assaults. He also provided cannabis to one of the young victims. Humberside Police officers apprehended Johnson in a vehicle in Scunthorpe while he was actively evading law enforcement for notification breaches. After initially denying the offences, Johnson entered guilty pleas on day two of his crown court trial. The judge ordered Johnson to serve six years in custody with an additional two years on extended licence. He was also placed on the sex offenders' register for life and made subject to a restraining order. #BenjaminJohnson #Scunthorpe #GrimsbyCrownCourt #HumbersidePolice #ukregisterdatabase
