@sashaklanecek: #18 Point Your Strings To Your Target Welcome to What Actually Improves Your Tennis - a series focused on the details that truly raise your level 🎾. One of the biggest misconceptions players have is thinking they need to change their entire swing to hit in a different direction 🙅🏻♀️. In reality, the adjustment is much smaller than most people think. At the moment of contact, wherever your strings are facing is where the ball will go 🎯. Whether you’re hitting cross-court or down the line, your swing should still accelerate through the ball. The main difference is the direction your strings are facing at contact. Often, it’s only a very small adjustment, just a few centimetres - which changes the direction of the ball trajectory whilst maintaining arm extension and body transfer forward. This helps you: • improve directional control • make cleaner contact • stay consistent under pressure • avoid changing your swing unnecessarily The best players keep the same fundamentals and make small adjustments at contact to control direction. 💡 Remember: Another useful checkpoint is your body position after the shot. As you finish, freeze for a moment and see where your hips are pointing. They should naturally finish towards your target, whether you’re hitting cross-court or down the line. • • • #tenniscoaching #tennistips #tennistraining #tennistechnique
