@babywhisperer77: #duet with @Hilary Fritsch, DMD #airwayhealth Something to think about with breastfeeding. I love listening to different perspectives and this defintely made me think 🤔 #lactationconsultant #ibclc #breastfeeding
both my brother and i were breastfed, had orthodontic work. husband was formula, perfect teeth and jaw but his bf siblings have needed orthodontia. 98.5% is an insane claim.

If my 9 week old is EBF but has a dummy, will it still negatively impact his teeth / jaw / airways?

yeah some people cant breastfeed. I have health issues that made it almost impossible to produce milk so my daughter wouldnt latch because there was no milk there was no let down to signal in her brain that theres some food.

I was breastfed until I was 3 and never had a pacifier, and I have a narrow pallet with severe crowding and the most severe form of wisdom tooth impaction, as well as TMJ dysfunction 😅

Any tips for getting a 37 weeker to EBF? My daughter was born at the same gestation and I wound up exclusively pumping for her. I’m determined to not do that and only EBF/ latch this time.

I was majority breast fed other than one bottle from my dad a day when I was a baby. I had crowded teeth, needed orthodontic work and I have sleep apnea..I’m a mouth breather. this is a wild claim. Sometimes it just has to do with genetics

Okay hi, me again! lol so my baby latched well, however sometimes when she’s fussy she like refuses to latch, do you think this is an indication of of baby maybe being full or tired? Side note, baby was 1/2 under weight at our last check up, I think she was getting lazy at the boob and just falling asleep, so I’ve been making a huge effort to keep her feeding and awake, but do you think when she does this she’s full and tired? Because I’m making and effort to not let her fall asleep at the boob in a short 10 minute feeding now

Some people are so into formula being exactly the same or better that they aggressively disregard this information

I breastfed my eldest for more than 3 years and still he has a narrow palate and crowded teeth. He was severely tongue tied(had a revision after 2 weeks but wasn’t done completely), couldn’t lift or move his tongue. But we’re working on it.

This is exactly why I keep nursing my three month old son multiple times a day despite having been on a 90% formula diet from the start. I’ve seen two IBCLCs and the consensus is IGT based on a multitude of factors. But there are too many benefits to nursing for me to feel comfortable stopping, even if I only make 1.5-2.5oz/day.

Hmmm I wonder if my mom not breastfeeding has something to do with why I’ve always been a mouth breather even though I try everything to stop

As an adult this is actually intriguing as I’ve never had spacing problems and wasn’t breastfed but for a short time! My kids 2 were not breastfed and have gone in to the dentist every 6m and they actually tell me the spacing is perfect! I can’t wait until they get older to see if this is true in my case! And my last born is exclusively breastfed so I’ll do my own little experiment! Truly I can’t wait to see
