My OB said pumping colostrum isn’t necessary and it’s just popular because of social media. With that being said, I have GD AND I’m having a Csection. Wondering if I need to last minute pump to try and get some

I tried to collect colostrum but I barely could extract and collect any 😳 I was so worried but once my baby was born had no issues 💕

I have GD, so my doc told me to start collecting at 34 weeks. I have a 350 ml stash of colostrum! I totally overproduce colostrum, not sure what I’m going to do with all of it or how much to bring to the hospital. I only collect about 10 min a day and average 30 ml!

Not colostrum related but. Why does my 1.5 week old act hungry but then when she opens her mouth, she doesn’t latch, she will pull away once I put my breast in her mouth, she goes back for it and then pulls away for like 5 minutes, until she either falls asleep or eventually latches.

The baby eats from one side and is done , so should you be pumping the other side? Or leaving that side full? What do you do if baby isn’t taking both sides at one feeding

Im 23 weeks and no leaks yet. I do have chronic diabetes, is there anyway I can jump start to collect? Or do I need to be patient and wait? Thank you so much for these videos!

Thankfully I started before baby is here bc I’d be more stressed figuring it out when baby is here and screaming hungry I plan to exclusively pump

I think colostrum collection is more important so that mums know how to hand express and get used to how their breasts feel and work and how to handle them!

Thank god I did it for my first baby. It saved us during her NICU stay when I had a doctor who was not wanting me to breast feed. So I’m doing it again 🥰

I’m collecting because I have GD and my last baby had low blood sugar. I had no idea about that with my 1st. So this time around I’m collecting!

I collected a tiny bit of colostrum not the excessive amount you see on social media and for me it did come in handy before my milk came in my baby had a bit of blood in urine so we just tipped him up with a bit of colostrum 2 or 3 times and that’s it so thankful I collected a couple of vials to avoid formula

When collecting how long should you try collecting from each breast? I have GD and started collecting this week, hoping to have a good stash built for my little guy!

37 weeks you mean before delivery colostrum exist ? 😳 omg i didnt know this before . i had c section delivery at 39 weeks for my face cephalic baby and breastfed directly in the operation room after 5 minutes but later i had cracked and blood in my nipples so i was told to take off the colostrum that was for about 1 night in my breast and throw it . i pumped i wish i had collected it and give it to my baby because old milk in the breast isnt bad for the baby right?

I’m in the UK, in scheduled to have a complex vertical C-section delivery at 36 weeks latest unless results come back meaning I need to deliver earlier. How do i prepare for that? What do I need to know, pumping etc. I know I can’t collect colostrum before delivery as I have placenta previa and a focal scar defect from a previous C-section x
