Companies do not realize the stigma and the uncomfortableness that they put upon employees who they are hiring in a position that look like her and look like me. You will receive a lot of backlash because of your appearance. This was never a problem for me….. I was fortunate to obtain the job. I went after. I did fit the agenda for the job and the qualifications for the job based on my schooling based on my conversation and actually coming from a family who was in the political arena who talked to me about presentation and how promising that is going towards the future. I remember when I was in school and there was a young lady who was the complexion of the people that you’re presenting and we just loved her but the teachers basically ignored her and she was smart on the honor roll and everything we felt going forward with a professional future…..the teachers didn’t have her stand out we did because we knew coming from parents who were a part of everything we supported her fully because they would look over her. It took US women to push her out in front. 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏
