@c5news: A Spanish farmer has filmed the moment she was reunited with her beloved donkeys after wildfires ravaged the country. The unnamed farmer said the fire spread so fast that she was only able to get the animals away from the barn. When she returned later that day, there they were safe and sound. “You’ve saved yourselves,” the woman is heard saying, as she approaches the animals behind a rock wall. “You saved yourselves little ones. Hello, my boys. Everything is burnt around. Thank God. Poor things. My boys, let’s go home.” Spain is experiencing one of its most destructive wildfires seasons on record fuelled by the driest June-July period since 1961 and temperatures exceeding 45C. At least 15 people have died, with fires laying ruin to 370,000 acres of land, leading the Spanish government to declare a national emergency on 23 July.
