that's fine if I'm too valuable in my current position. but they better have a dual ladder process where I get paid and compensated for where I should be at a promotion level if not technically promoted. otherwise I'm walking lol

yep, guarantee this is gonna be the bullshit answer I get for the job I just applied for internally, ur too valuable where u are (valuable to who? the company or me?)

This really common. They also know if they promote then hire everyone that would need to be hired training would be an issue and some would look great sound great in the interview and never perform. or find the job not to their liking and quit. The the company would have start over several times. Easier to not promote, not give a better pay and find someone who can play manager
