@shattered.glass.coaching: Here's what hiring managers actually talk about after your interview. It's not your qualifications. Your qualifications got you in the room. They already believe you can do the job. That's not what they're evaluating anymore. What they discuss after you leave: → Do we trust her? Her judgment? Her instincts? Her ability to navigate hard situations? → Would we want to work with her every day? They're imagining you in meetings, on calls, in tough moments. → Did she ask thoughtful questions? Surface questions = surface thinking. Strategic questions = strategic thinking. → Was she specific? Vague answers blur together. Real stories, real numbers, real decisions stand out. → Did she want THIS job, or just A job? Specific interest is magnetic. Generic interest is forgettable. Your resume got you in the door, but what they remember after the interview iis how you made them feel. #jobinterviewtips #interviewtips #interviewskills #jobinterview #careercoach
Just interviewed with a medical records company. I was totally myself, gave complete honest answers, no copy and past bs that you’re SUPPOSED to say. They offered me the job within 24 hours

Yep! You hit the nail on the head. Candidates who stand out are very personable.

HR here… this is spot on!👏 I always tell people if you get called in for the interview you are a qualified candidate; however, the assessment is on whether or not you fit the characteristics of what they are looking for.

Yes, but what if its a highly standardized interview. The questions I got were of zero soft skill and it was like I was on a witness stand😭

Esp during this market they already have an internal candidate so this is mostly moot. Panels move on fast and just go through the motions.

The interview is an indication that you mean the basic qualifications. Everything else is for them to see if you can work with them and do they see themselves working with you

Yes, getting along with people is important, but so is objective competence. Customized solutions are better than one size fits all. However, with Federal Reserve central bank (which is neither federal nor a reserve), too many companies are rely too much on cronyism + nepotism, not enough on meritocracy + fair competition, & tailored solutions.

I honestly feel like the interview process has become so difficult these days. Companies are relying more and more on AI tools, recorded video interviews, and automated screening systems, but I don’t think those are always the best ways to identify a great candidate or predict how someone will actually perform in a role.
A person is so much more than the answers they give in a timed interview. You learn a lot by meeting someone in person — seeing their confidence, their communication style, their body language, and how they connect with others. Those human interactions are often what truly show whether someone will be a good fit.
It’s frustrating that technology is replacing so much of the personal side of hiring. Finding the right person should be about understanding the individual, not just analyzing a recording or an algorithm’s decision.
