The pension part confuses me. So when you apply for residency, they need to have 30 years worth of pension contributions. But the general requirement is you only need to live in Japan for 10 years before applying. So they have to contribute 3x more than Japanese citizens?? Can you at least add your home countries pension earnings to it if there is a mutual agreement between them?

What about the wives who have never or hardly worked. Or couples who have worked outside of Japan and want to retire/go back with their foreign spouse, Especially the wife who may have never worked?

Are the policy makers really this dumb? How do they expect someone who moves to Japan to have paid into their pension system for 30 years?... 🤦♂️I bet they had all staff use an inkan stamp to approve this before sending a landline fax to their supervisor..
