I honestly feel like the interview process has become so difficult these days. Companies are relying more and more on AI tools, recorded video interviews, and automated screening systems, but I don’t think those are always the best ways to identify a great candidate or predict how someone will actually perform in a role. A person is so much more than the answers they give in a timed interview. You learn a lot by meeting someone in person — seeing their confidence, their communication style, their body language, and how they connect with others. Those human interactions are often what truly show whether someone will be a good fit. It’s frustrating that technology is replacing so much of the personal side of hiring. Finding the right person should be about understanding the individual, not just analyzing a recording or an algorithm’s decision.
