I’ll translate….. the base gas is the same what changes each company’s gas is the detergents they add so EXXON VALERO SHELL CHEVRON are considered TOP TIER GAS. Now if you go to Joe Blows gas station for example he may get gas from EXXON VELERO SHELL OR CHEVRON but they don’t get the additives detergents, the get GENERIC DETERGENTS, so this is called generic gas . Where do you think where non branded gas stations get their gas from. I hauled fuel even the invoices say GENERIC GAS for Joe Blows Gas Station. Now chain gas stations that are non branded can get TOP TIER GAS for example QT ( QUIK TRIP) gets top tier gas they are considered an unbranded gas station.

The real winner of the 50,000-mile Ford F-150 test is "Top Tier" certified fuel at whatever octane rating your truck actually needs, proving that paying extra for premium octane is generally unnecessary unless you are towing heavy loads. A long-term real-world test conducted by automotive reviewers highlights that the financial cost of running premium fuel does not justify the minimal efficiency gains for daily driving.

Using ethanol was never good for any engine. Reason: When using an ethanol test kit you're testing how much water is in the fuel. Water in a combustible engine harms the engine. In addition the ethanol generally requires more fuel to achieve the same mileage that non ethanol. The government , manufacturers & oil companies know this. 87 octane non ethanol also burns cleaner with less deposits than 87 octane ethanol.

Top tier gasoline is better for newer vehicles and even though it’s more expensive, you will probably experience better gas mileage. The only issue is if your vehicle is designed to run on 87 octane (regular) gasoline, it’s still a good idea to use top tier regular gasoline, from a top tier certified gas station.
