@vinnielauria: Investors hear 100 pitches a week. The words you pick decide which half you land in. → Don't say "we're disrupting." Say "we're 10x cheaper." Disruption is a word. Cheaper is a fact. → Don't say "huge market." Say "$2 billion and growing 30% a year." A number you can defend beats a word you can't. → Don't say "we have no competitors." Say "here are our 3 closest and where they're weak." No competitors means no market. → Don't say "we're pre-revenue." Say "12 customers said they'd pay $300 a month and 4 already wired the deposit." Pre-revenue is an excuse. Validated demand is a story. → Don't say "we need this round to survive." Say "this round takes us 10x faster on what's already working." Investors back rockets, not life rafts. → Don't say "let me know what you think." Say "the round closes in 3 weeks." Urgency makes the decision happen. Which line have you been saying wrong? 👇 #startupfundraising #venturecapital #pitchdeck #startupfounders #foundertips
Brother, every single market had a point of origin where someone had to be first. Take Bitcoin in 2009 with zero competitors and zero market that grew into a trillion dollar industry. Or Shazam back on flip phones when you dialed a shortcode just to name a song. You are just confusing no market with a market that is too brand new to show up on a spreadsheet yet. Category creators always look like no market right up until they define the whole space.

Boro :
the 'no competitors' line is spot on. claiming you are alone in a market usually just means you haven't looked hard enough.
