There are managers appointed by the MEC to manage and provide leadership to schools. If their appointees fail to provide the latter they make teachers their scapegoat. All the questions the MEC is asking should be directed to his appointed managers . 1. Why are teachers at a tarven during school hours. (The principal and SMT) 2. Why are there 9 teachers in the staffroom ( Deputy principal responsible for timetabling) When his appointees fail...schools become problamatic . Teachers are proffesionals and should be treated as such . Not rediculed, thrown under the bus and intimidated in the execution of their duties. Teachers are mistreated by the learners they teach, they department they serve as well as the communities they serve. The fact that the MEC and DD ..had to come to deal with the most mandane and minute competencies of the SMT shows that they have failed to appoint the right people into positions of management and leadership in their own schools.
