Another thing I've come across is the amount of job scams out there. Some companies will take you through multiple interview stages, tell you that you've passed, and then suddenly say you need to be certified in Lean Six Sigma or some other course before you can start. Conveniently, they recommend a specific book or training material that you have to purchase. That should immediately raise a red flag. Legitimate employers may require certifications for certain roles, but they typically list those requirements before the interview process begins. They also don't pressure candidates into buying books or courses from a specific source as a condition of getting the job. Unfortunately, there are people taking advantage of job seekers who are eager to find work. Always do your research, verify the company, and be cautious of any employer that asks you to spend money before you've officially been hired.

This has happened to me before. The recruiter sent me to a lady on teams and she wanted to revamp my resume and optimize my LinkedIn profile for recruiters to find me. She asked for my password and reassured me that she’s done it multiple times and stated she’ll take payment after I have received the job. I told her I’m not giving out my password and asked if she could tell me how to go about it and she ignored the question. That was a little too sus for me so it was a big NO. It’s crazy out here when you’re searching for a remote work.

this happened to me, as a recruiting Manager with over 12 years experience, using ATS and running my resume through same to be told "their ats" is having issues reading my resume so here's the fix.... pay them. I was like I didn't reach out to you for a job but it was the other way around. how did you find me then? no response 🤣
