how much nitrogen do you apply to your soil in spring and fall? just wondering cause if you grow them in the same area year after year consistent nitrogen application in spring and fall should help keep your nitrogen levels balanced while making sure you have more than what the plant takes in. you could also try slow release ESN

if its any consolation, any time another giant pumpkin grower comes across my feed I genuinely feel like im cheating on war Admiral and sea biscuit. you may not grow the biggest pumpkins this year, but youre growing the only ones we care about.

sounds nuts, but if you know a hairdresser/have a salon near you, see if you can get the cut hair and use that! it's a slow-release nitrogen fertiliser and it helps with soil moisture retention and pest control
