BREAKINGNEWS- HGP NIGHTLY NEWS- Protest action greeted Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and members of his team as they arrived at Watooka House in Linden on Tuesday for a Region Ten Public Day outreach. Demonstrators used the occasion to demand accountability over the MV Barima tragedy, with calls for justice for the victims and sweeping reforms to Guyana’s maritime sector. Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed also attempted to approach and speak with the Vice President, but was unable to do so after security barricades prevented him from getting close to the government delegation. The demonstration reflects the mounting public pressure surrounding the handling of the MV Barima disaster.
