If anybody on my sales team opened a call this way they would be ripped off the phone and fired or put into training. Asking permission to pitch somebody is the worst advice you can give a cold caller.

You want a client to make the least amount of decisions, decisions raise questions, questions raise concerns, concerns hang up the phone. Asking permission is too much of an opening decision for someone who has no idea. So now you only want to prospect general curious people? Or rather you elevator pitch it and get more bites

Try using this on a plumbing or HVAC business owner. Completely different ball game. Using these “cute” openers on a cold call will get you hung up on 99.999% of the time in the industry I sell to.
