The series genuinely did not know what it wanted to say. For example, a Muslim character would be introduced, and they would face racism, but Alicia would show empathy, only for us in the end to find out the guy did commit the bad thing, or that he is in fact a T. So the racists were right, I guess? Her son's girlfriend was Somali, and she faced racism and Islamophobia, and sometimes it was framed as bad, but often, it just cruised as just humor. And even in this scene, or Eli in general, we know he hates Netanyahu, and he makes comments to oppose racism sometimes, but his daughter served in the IDF and he's proud of her. I wrote a lot; the point being, I hate this type of show. People hailed it for its good Arab representation, yet I felt continuously offended by it.
