The Best Green Bean Casserole! Always get good feedback when I make it. Its so Creamy and perfect for the holidays! Here is the recipe: Green bean casserole 1 1/2 lbs fresh green beans 16 oz cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced 1 medium onion, finely chopped 6-8 garlic cloves, minced 1 1/2 cups Crispy Fried Onions 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated 2 1/2 cups whole milk 1 cup water 4 Tbs all purpose flour 1 Tbs Better than Bouillon Chicken Base 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp low sodium soy sauce 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard 2 Tbs butter 1 Tbs cooking oil Salt and pepper to taste 1. Start by preheating oven to 375°F. 2. Trim the ends off of the green beans. Place green beans in slightly salted boiling water to blanch 5-7 mins. Then remove into iced water to stop the cooking process. Set aside. 3. Into a deep, large skillet add 2 tbs butter and chopped onion. Cook 3 mins. 4. Add the sliced mushrooms, the oil, and cook 10 mins. Stirring often. Then add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds. 5. Now, add the flour and mix everything together. Let it toast 2 mins. 6. Slowly pour in water and the milk while stirring at the same time to prevent clumps. 7. Add chicken base, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper. Stir together and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce thicken a bit (about 3-4 mins). Don’t forget it will still continue thickening in the oven. Remove from heat. 8. Add 3/4 cup crispy fried onions and stir together. Taste sauce one last time and season more with salt and pepper if needed. 9. Drain green beans and dry with paper towels. Then add into sauce. Mix well and transfer to a deep casserole dish. 10. Bake in the oven for 30 mins uncovered. Meanwhile, to a small bowl add the remaining 3/4 cup crispy fried onions and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Mix. 11. Once casserole is done cooking, remove and sprinkle the top with this mixture. Place back into oven and bake 5 mins.
