@mrsshaniawashington: Round 2 of shaving my head due to Trichotillomania. The first time I shaved my head back in May I wanted everyone else’s approval. My whole life I’ve always craved outside validation. People to tell me I’m a good person, a good mom, pretty enough, nice enough, all of the things and it was no different when it came to shaving my head. I was so concerned with what everyone else thought. But they couldn’t see what was going on inside my head. So when I was asking for their opinion on if I should shave my head or not they were only contemplating long hair vs short. They didn’t see the hours I spent pulling my hair. The shame. The exhaustion. The mental toll. This time, I’m shaving my head with confidence. Without the need for validation first. Just doing what’s right for my mental health. I thought shaving my head would take away my confidence. Turns out, it GAVE me confidence and took away my need for outside validation and mannnnn does it feel goooooood!!!! #Trichotillomania #BFRB #OCD #HairPulling #ShavedHead
